Doug Whitfield

CREDENTIALS: Doug studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Mohawk Valley Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Syracuse University. He received his AAS in Design and BFA in Painting from RIT. Doug also earned his Master Teacher Certification, Integrative Learning System from Syracuse University.

Adrienne Watson

CREDENTIALS:  Adrienne is currently teaching Art at Little Falls Middle School.  She has been a public school teacher for almost twenty years, instructing grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade.  Adrienne completed her student teaching in Brisbane, Australia and is certified to teach Art and Elementary Education.   In 2016 Adrienne became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).

CREDENTIALS: Rosann Scalise, M.Ed., is a certified Tai Chi Instructor through the Tai Chi for Health Institute, a world-wide Tai Chi organization developed by family physician and renowned Tai Chi expert, Dr. Paul Lim. In addition, Rosann has been a meditation practitioner for over 25 years and has been teaching mediation for 14 years.

CREDENTIALS: Donnalyn, as a participant in the Bridge Program with St. Lawrence University, is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a BA in Art/Art Education and in addition holds her MS in Education from SUNY Potsdam. She is a certified NYS Teacher with 35 years’ experience as an Art Educator. Donnalyn is also a member of the New York State Art Teacher’s Association and the National Art Education Association.

John Famulare

CREDENTIALS:  John holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from Union College in Schenectady, NY. MEDIA:  Charcoal
SPECIALTY: Realism.
CLASS(ES) OFFERED AT THE MVCA: Realism with Charcoal.  Students will work with a variety of charcoals.  Some drawing experience would be helpful but is not required. Short demos emphasizing a particular principle are followed by a great deal of individualized attention. Students need to supply their own materials.

Laura Smith

CREDENTIALS:  Laura is a graduate of the Juilliard School and Mannes College of Music and holds a Master’s Degree in Opera/Music Theater.   Her background in string music education includes 15 years of coaching and teaching with InterSchool Orchestras of New York (NYC) and faculty membership at the Kinhaven Music School and Summertrios.  Currently, Laura serves on the faculty of the Allen-Stevenson School in NYC, where she has taught for the past 17 years.  She also performs regularly with Symphoria (formerly the Syracuse Symphony) and Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown.
