Art in Public Spaces

Did you know that MVCA exhibits art outside of the 401 Gallery?

An exhibition of works by artist Garlyn MaGinnis is currently on display at the Little Falls Public Library through the end of May.  View the exhibit in the Community Room during regular library hours.  The library is located at 10 Waverly Place and is handicap accessible. For more information, call the library at 315.823.1542.

Currently in the 401 Gallery

March 24 – May 28
“Current Circumstances” by John Fitzsimmons

An exhibition by John Fitzsimmons will include new works and recent figurative works.  He categorizes his three distinct bodies of work as Figurative Paintings, Etchings, and Nature Paintings.  A native of Central New York and graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Fitzsimmons continued to paint and draw after graduation, but his life took a different direction.  To learn more about the artist’s path from past to present, visit his website.

Coming Later in 2022

June 16 – July 28
“Humorous Ferrous” by Edwin Falk

Summer offers the weather and outdoor spaces to best display the oversized creative work of sculptor Edwin Falk, whose repurposed machinery parts of rusty, naturally oxidized iron and other odds and ends will form an imaginative exhibit inside and outside the 401 Gallery. Watch for more details about where his whimsical statutes will be located in Canal Place.

August 17 – September 24
John Van Orsouw Exhibition

Self-taught artist John Van Orsouw was born in the Netherlands. “My work is influenced by children’s toys, folk and indigenous art forms. I am an amateur painter and maker of things. But I spend most of my time doing this and I will continue as long as there are new things to discover…I like my works to be joyous, colorful with a kinetic feel,” the artist states. For more information about his work, visit his website.

October 9 – November 19
