We welcome back the artist and instructor Frank Wilcox to MVCA for his 10 Week Mixed Media Series. Frank has been teaching art since 1960 to students of all levels. He received his BS and MS in Art from SUNY New Paltz. Previous MVCA Board member and previous Chairman of MVCA Fine Arts committee-
Frank moved to Little Falls in 1972 and taught elementary, junior high and high school.
He’s been painting ADK landscapes for many years. Frank has had a multitude of solo shows through the years, and has sold his work in the North Country as well as Upstate NY. Frank has won prizes for his paintings in Lake Placid, Cooperstown and Old Forge. Frank looks forward to seeing you upon his return to MVCA this spring.
Bring your own supplies: (paint (oil or acrylic), brushes, canvas, pencil & paper).

Maria Vallese Pen & Ink Workshop

Unlock the timeless elegance of pen and ink drawing in Maria Vallese’s beginner-friendly, 2-hour workshop at MVCA. Perfect for those new to the art or looking to refine their skills, this session will introduce you to the fundamentals of pen and ink, a medium celebrated for its precision, contrast, and versatility. From sketching simple lines to shading and texturing, you’ll discover the joy and artistry of creating beautiful, detailed works with ink.
Materials provided, limited to 8 students.

John Dean Ossowski Mosaic Crochet Workshop

Instructor and needlework virtuoso John Dean Ossowski brings MVCA a brand new workshop! If you want to learn an easy crochet technique that produces stunning results then this workshop is for you. Mosaic crochet involves combining simple stitches (single and double crochet) to create an infinite variety of color-work patterns – suitable for blankets, pillow covers, handbags, and other projects. In this course, students will learn the basics of this technique and how to read a mosaic crochet pattern chart. Students will also be introduced to finishing techniques particular to this method of crochet. Upon class completion, students will have a small sample piece they can use as a mug rug or as part of a larger project.
NOTE: This class is best suited for the intermediate-beginner crocheter. Students should know how to make chain stitches, single crochet, and double crochet.
