MVCA is thrilled to feature their first ever exhibit of exclusively Ceramics. Born and raised in Yerevan, Armenia Poghosian received his education at the Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex in Yerevan, specializing in Ceramic Arts and furthering his knowledge through mentorships. Poghosian is the founder of 4 Elements Studio, the community art center based in Utica, NY. When he isn’t spending his time curating 4 Elements exhibitions, teaching inclusive art classes, and assisting with programming for everyone in the community Poghosian is working on Clayville Pottery, a venture he began in response to the challenges of the 2020 pandemic where his focus is on his original ceramic creations of which you’ll see at the show. There are 3 different series featured in this exhibit, each one representational of his journeys around the globe. The central theme of this showcase revolves around vessels as travel pods that embody the authenticity of both the voyager and their creator. Outre’ consists of 25, one of a kind ceramic creations, each one containing its own extraordinary world.
