The Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts proudly presents “My Dead Friend Zoe,” an American comedy-drama film. Engaged in a mysterious relationship with wise-cracking (and dead) best friend from the Army, a female Afghanistan veteran reluctantly reunites with her estranged Vietnam vet grandfather at the family’s ancestral lake house. We welcome Co-Screenwriter A.J. Bermudez to special screening at Valley Cinemas on March 9th with a reception at Rock Valley Brewery (by invitation only).
Additional movie times will be Monday 3/10- Thursday 3/13 at 7pm, this film is rated R, “My Dead Friend Zoe” contains trigger warnings for PTSD depictions, grief and loss related to military trauma, potential flashbacks, discussions of suicide, and emotional distress.
At its core, this is a buddy film about a complicated friendship, a divided family, and the complex ways in which we process grief .
